Spring Refresh- Entryway Paint DIY

It’s March on the west coast which means it’s really feeling like spring! I have been itching to give our entryway a fresh look and the onset of spring gave me the little push I needed. We kicked off the challenge this round by receiving our new cabinets. They aren’t even unpacked yet and I am beyond thrilled to have them. I may just breakdown and unbox one early just so I can see the beautiful colour I picked them in!

Late one Friday night I started taping out some fun options for design. Ultimately, after multiple funky design trials I ended up going simple. See below for a couple designs that didn’t make the cut!

One option: multiple different sized stripes

Another option: multiple angled stripes My final design was a wide vertical off-centre stripe in white. It gives just a little bit of drama while staying classic. I have endless home projects in the works as we’re 7 months in from our move from NYC to NC and sometimes don’t know where to start or what takes priority. Sometimes it’s where we spend most of our time that takes priority but sometimes one piece of furniture can be the start of it all. Thank you Birch Lane for sponsoring this post.

All you need is an hour one evening, a little left over paint, and painters tape to create a quick refresh of your space! This coming week will include finishing drywall, replacing a couple floor boards, painting, and any remaining odds and ends to prep for cabinet install! Don’t forget to check back in with all the other One Room Challenge participants here to see their progress this week.
