As some of you may already know, I occasionally dabble in kitchen and bath design. I have had the pleasure of working with numerous clients on a variety of projects. I have always loved and still love a white kitchen. This white kitchen is one of my favorites as it so perfectly suited the character of the 1930’s home. This kitchen had lots of little details that made it a more remarkable than your average white kitchen. Take a look at some of my favorite details from this project.
We maximized this space and still kept it pretty and fun. To do this we ran cabinetry to the ceiling with glass relief and wood interiors. We also added a narrow island for seating, extra work surface, and even more storage.
I truly love and highly recommend a custom hood in your kitchen. This beautiful piece brought into this place added so much more character. A great way to mix things up a bit in your mill-work is to use a combination of knobs and handles. The hardware used in this kitchen were a nice nod to the era of the 1935 home.
To cap off the ultimate storage in this space an entire wall of floor to ceiling mill-work was placed left of the fridge. As an extra bonus, a work station and command zone was placed to the right.
I have endless home projects in the works as we’re 7 months in from our move from NYC to NC and sometimes don’t know where to start or what takes priority. Sometimes it’s where we spend most of our time that takes priority but sometimes one piece of furniture can be the start of it all.
Thank you Birch Lane for sponsoring this post.
What was your favourite part of this kitchen renovation? I’d love to hear from you!
This coming week will include finishing drywall, replacing a couple floor boards, painting, and any remaining odds and ends to prep for cabinet install!
