Let’s be honest, once you have a baby they take over your life( in a great way!), including all their gear! We are so blessed to have little Emma and her endless colourful toys. Emma’s hang out zone is right next to our living area and across from our kitchen. This is a space we walk past and look at all day. For my sanity I knew I needed to restyle her play area!
Emma’s space before:
Emma’s space after! VOILA!!
My favourite purchase to store Emma’s toys is the Eket Storage Cabinet from IKEA. I love the wood furniture legs that give it a more polished look. I mixed things up by using both Natural Rattan baskets and Dark Grey ones.
Adding this woven jute rug from Walmart was an awesome find at only $48. Hidden underneath this pretty piece is Emma’s soft foam mat. I picked up the Large Wicker Basket from IKEA to store Emma’s stuffed animals. I may steal it back and put it in our room I love it so much!
I picked up the two prints on the far wall from my local homesense. The animal prints to the right were purchased at a small local shop in Tofino before I was even pregnant! The Letter Board is a fun addition I grabbed off Amazon.
The play kitchen we were given as a gift for Emma. This piece was a lucky find at Winners. I love the farmhouse sink and white shaker cabinetry of this mini kitchen! The best part? It matches our own kitchen across the room!
One of my favourite pieces we have in Emma’s play area is this teepee. My mom made it herself! This was a labour of love and most likely will not ever be repeated ( says my mom) But, if you’re on the hunt for a cute teepee definitely check out Etsy. There are so many creative makers there to choose from for unique finds.
One practical purchase that I love is the Wall mounted Coat Rack! I am constantly searching for a jacket and hat before we head out the door and this piece by IKEA has been so useful!
Which is your favourite element in Emma’s space? I’d love to know!
Until next time on the blog
